This Works For Me Wednesday Backwards Edition came at just the perfect time because I happen to need advise on several issues. Please help me out and thanks for all your comments.
- Which blog reader do you prefer and why? (I’ve been using and loving WordPress Blog Surfer, but it only works for WordPress blogs.)
- What is your favorite, easy to make/serve dessert for your family? I often serve ice cream as it’s real easy, tasty and in hot Southern California it also cools us down, but I’d love your ideas or recipes for some more variety.
- Our son is doing a poll for school and would like me to ask which presidential candidate do you DISLIKE the most and why?
- Life is getting outrageously expensive. The price of everything is going up except for paychecks. What are your best ways of saving money and stretching your shrinking dollar?
- It’s time to change cell phones, so which company are you happy with? Which plan gets the most minutes for the least amount of money?
- Can you recommend digital scrapbooking sites?
For more participants, be sure to visit Rocks In My Dryer.
Don’t miss my other Works For Me Wednesday posts on my Household Tips page and Organizing Tips page.

The Archbishop of Canterbury says there was no virgin birth, no magi (only a legend), and no star, among other blabberings. This is coming from a religious leader of the Christian faith, but since atheism keeps creeping into our churches, even an Archbishop no longer believes in the biblical nativity. I found all the details on Tad Cronn’s blog, so head over there to read his editorial on the Archbishop’s heresy titled The Archbishop of Can’t Be: Atheism in the Church.

UPDATE: For the winners & additional information, click here for my Nov. 5, 2007 post.
We had such an exciting science class yesterday! Our son’s science teacher is a research scientist and has helped build an autonomous robot car named RASCAL.
RASCAL is autonomous, NOT, I repeat, NOT remote controlled. It drives itself!! With sensors, a GPS system, lots and lots of computer software and a laptop in the back, RASCAL drives without a driver!
The Grand Challenge is set by the U.S. government, and the grand prize last year was $2 million won by Stanford University, but RASCAL was one of the top finalists.
The U.S. government is hoping that they can have fully functional autonomous cars by year 2015 (that’s only about 7 years from now!!) so that soldiers won’t get shot or bombed while transporting supplies.
RASCAL is competing again in the 3rd Grand Challenge, the “Urban Challenge” to be held near Victorville on Sat., Nov. 3.
The Grand Challenge folks have promised to have a live webcast, so stay tuned as they announce more details in the next week.
Check the website at www.darpa.mil/grandchallenge/index.asp, or if you’re in the area and you’re an early bird, go out and see the excitement in person! It starts early 😉 !
